Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Humanums ("the Service"), operated by Humanums ("we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Humanums is a content authenticity certification platform. We provide a writing editor that captures behavioral signals during the writing process to generate verifiable certificates proving content was human-written. The Service includes the editor, behavioral analysis, certificate generation, public verification pages, and embeddable badges.

3. Accounts

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
• One person or entity may not maintain more than one account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to certify content that was not genuinely written by you during the captured session.
• Attempt to manipulate, spoof, or bypass the behavioral analysis system.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the editor in a way that simulates human writing behavior.
• Upload or certify content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes on the rights of others.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of our analysis algorithms.
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our infrastructure.

5. Content Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you create using the Service. By using Humanums, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service — including generating certificates and displaying your public profile and verification pages.

6. Certificates & Badges

• Certificates represent our analysis of writing behavior during a specific session. They are not a guarantee of authorship.
• Authenticity scores are generated by our rule-based analysis system and reflect behavioral patterns observed during the writing process.
• Certificates and badges are publicly verifiable. Certificate metadata (title, author, score, date) is publicly accessible.
• We reserve the right to revoke certificates if we determine they were obtained through manipulation of our system.

7. Subscriptions & Payments

• Free accounts are limited to 3 certifications per month.
• Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Prices are listed on our pricing page.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing settings. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. Existing subscriptions are honored until their next renewal.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@humanums.com.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, particularly if you attempt to manipulate the certification system. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your documents and data will be deleted within 30 days, but issued certificates may remain publicly verifiable.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that our behavioral analysis is infallible. Certificates represent our best assessment based on available behavioral data, not an absolute determination of authorship.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Humanums shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with the changes, you may close your account.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Humanums operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
